VS Code surfaces that query the live ideas store through index-service.ts:
- Activity bar workspace / search / minigraph / todo ( activity-bar-webview-provider.ts )
- Ideas Summary panel ( ideas-summary-panel.ts ) — prefer paged SQL and capped graph queries
- Reference-search and wildcard-match panels ( may call `listAllIdeas`; see avoid_full_list_all_ideas )
- Chat / AI commands that call `getFileContext`, `getLocalGraph`, or semantic search
- Refactor and mutation hooks that read inbound edges from the store
- Name and attribute catalog sync that pushes index rows into the language server
The Rust language server may open the ideas index read-only for rename, find-references, and fallback completion.
Open-file inbound inlays and file CodeLens use the host-pushed snapshot first ( no SQLite in those handlers ).
